Visual Power of Pinterest

When deciding where to most-effectively place your business’ ad campaign, it can be tempting to go straight for the big guns: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Today I invite you to take a look at a less-utilized but just as effective tool for your marketing use: Pinterest. We’re going to look at answers to three main questions you may have about this site: What is Pinterest, why do people love it, and how can it benefit your business to promote using this platform?

To start with, what is Pinterest? In a nutshell, Pinterest is a montage of everything on the internet, all placed into a visually appealing package. When I say “everything” on the internet, I truly mean EVERYTHING. Whether a consumer is searching for an answer to their question about the solar system, information on how to construct an acrylic table, memes that make them laugh out loud, inspiration for their art piece on mermaids, or a group that sympathizes with their morals, Pinterest has a pin for them. This shareable pin is then posted publicly on Pinterest’s forum, making its way once more to the top of search results.

Secondly, why do people love Pinterest? According to Pearson Education, “65 percent of the population consists of visual learners”(1). Your future consumers are scrolling quickly through the wealth of information that exists in front of their eyes, pausing only when an item catches their attention. In this world of visual stimulation, Pinterest provides a never-ending stream of colorful and fun information that so many individuals crave.

Finally, how can it benefit your business to promote using this platform? You’ve done the work to create a visually appealing ad and you want it to really shine. Pinterest is the ideal site to truly show off your business’ information. It seamlessly integrates your ad with all the other content listed on its page, giving the consumer the impression that your ad is a natural fit for what they have searched. This leads to more clicks on your content.

Let’s say you know that you want to advertise on Pinterest but haven’t gotten around to creating the perfect marketing campaign? That’s when you know it’s time to contact a Social Media Manager and work with them to design an effective campaign created just for you. The visual power of Pinterest is overwhelming, and can benefit your business tremendously.
